Four decades in criminal defense

Phil has defended people accused of crimes since 1985. He has spent much of that time in federal court, where he has served for decades on the Criminal Justice Act panel in both the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Federal court experience

Phil is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court as well as federal district and appellate courts. On federal cases that call for a second experienced lawyer, he works alongside Jason Kaufman.

Leadership in the defense bar

Since 2011 Phil has served on the board of directors of the Miami chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
