Who is Jason Kaufman?

Jason Kaufman is a criminal defense attorney who cares deeply for each and everyone one of his clients. Unlike other attorneys, he takes pride in protecting those when the deck is stacked against them. After seeing individuals flounder through the criminal justice system, Jason recognized the need for an attorney who was a real advocate. Jason Kaufman is that person. He has tried more than 70 cases with a proven track record that his clients can attest to.

Phil Horowitz

Mr. Horowitz has been a practicing criminal defense attorney since 1985. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys – Miami Chapter since 2011. For almost thirty years, Mr. Horowitz has been a member of the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel in both the Southern and Middle District of Florida. Mr. Horowitz is a graduate of the distinguished Bronx High School of Science. He received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his law degree from the University of Miami in 1984. In addition to being a member of The Florida Bar, he is a member in good standing in various district and appellate courts as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Jason’s early life began in journalism and then radio. He studied politics and spent time teaching and working with special needs children in South Florida’s inner cities. Over 15 years ago, he realized his true calling was defending those that didn’t have the skill or ability to fight for themselves and he changed his career course to be a trial lawyer.

As a trial lawyer and student of psychology, Jason has successfully applied his skills and wealth of knowledge in social psychology to provide jury consulting services as well. He teaches and trains other attorneys how to choose the right jurors for each case and helps craft the proper arguments and strategies for more difficult and complex litigation matters.
